Recovery Without Walls (RWW) hosted its First Annual Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, June 15 at 9:00am -3:00 pm at the Sea Crest Beach Resort in North Falmouth. Major sponsors for the event were Cape Cod Five, New Balance Falmouth Road Race, and the Sea Crest Beach Resort which hosted the tournament.
Unlike most single-focus charity events, this tournament benefited not only RWW, but also helped 20 other Falmouth/Cape based charities. Teams played for one of 20 non-profit organizations. A pool of money was set aside so that all recipient charities received a financial prize.
“By opening this tournament to many non-profit groups, we believe we can foster an added excitement and energy and facilitate opportunities for organizations to learn about each other and potentially partner together, stated Bill Dougherty, RWW Director and event organizer. “This event celebrates the wonderful spirit of voluntarism in Falmouth and on the Cape,” Dougherty added. He is urging the community to come out and support their favorite non-profit, in a fun-filled, outdoor event.
